Senior Manager of Corporate Sanitation

Overview: We are working with a large food manufacturer in the Midwest that is looking for a Corporate Senior Sanitation Manager. This is newly created role that will act as the resource for the plant level sanitation teams, conduct internal audits, and assist with 3rd party audits. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge/experience with CIP, COP, SQF & FSMA. This role is a great step for someone looking to expanded their leadership skills and be in a corporate position.

Job Duties:

  • Works cross functionally with the organization on a plant level & corporate level
  • Collaborate, work, and manage chemical supply vendors.  Ensures monthly meeting are held with the vendors to address action items. Also engage with suppliers to assist with mitigation activities.
  • Continuously suggests and initiates improvements on sanitation programs, policies and KPIs
  • Reviews sanitation reports for all plants
  • Evaluate chemical use and other sanitation tools and give feedback for uses
  • Participates in yearly vendor survey and communicate results across the organization
  • Responsible for ensuring that new plant sanitation hires complete necessary training
  • Ensures that all sites have capabilities, practices and knowledge to follow important regulations
  • Conducts internal audits and 3rd party audits
  • Manages sanitation verification programs. Provide standardized procedures for data management programs
  • Monitor problem areas related to pest control, food safety, and sanitation to develop strategies accordingly
  • Assist plant and provide technical support with their SSOP’s. Also ensures that all SSOP documentation is current and reviewed yearly.



Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in plant operations/sanitation experience in any of the following:  food/beverage/dairy is required.  Dairy is highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of management/supervisor experience is needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Willing to travel up to 40-60%. Will Travel intermittently. (Travel one week, and then not for a couple weeks)   
  • Experience w/regulatory, 3rd party & customer audits is required
  • Strong & thorough knowledge of CIP systems & process automation, FSMA requirements, setting up Master Sanitation schedules, and SQF
  • Extensive knowledge & experience with a variety of sanitizing applications
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office & SAP
  • Able to work collaboratively in team environment w/facilities, regulatory agencies & customers
