Description

The Associate Producer will work all phases of the production process from story development through post-production and delivery in support of the local production unit ranging from news and public affairs to arts and culture series.  Responsibilities and tasks will include, but are not limited to, researching and pitching stories, developing storylines and identifying locations and characters; coordinating the production of shoots; conducting interviews, working with on-camera talent as required and fact-checking scripts.  In addition, s/he will liaise, as necessary, with various other departments, including publicity, production services, finance and legal.  Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Conduct in-depth research via multiple sources to develop and validate program content
  • Leverage research and other outside data to conceptualize and develop segments and programs
  • Write, review, and edit program treatments, scripts, and ancillary copy
  • Coordinate and schedule shoots, book interviews, manage programming rights and clearances, manage equipment rentals, etc.
  • Assist with graphics, gather archival footage and interactive materials
  • Shoot and edit video for digital and social media platforms
  • Review and process media formats and ingest raw footage in preparation for editors
  • Liaise with outside partners and clients in support of projects

 

 

Required Skills

Two (2) years of experience in multimedia production including ability to shoot and edit video (Premiere);
Two (2) years editorial experience, including experience in dealing with a wide range of contemporary issues; knowledge of arts, science and technology a plus;
BS or BA or equivalent experience;
Exceptional written and verbal communication, and presentation skills; exceptional planning, organization, problem analysis and decision-making skills; strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
Optional Skills

Candidates with experience with Dalet are preferred.
