The candidate will serve as an onsite contractor working within the AFRL team on either experimental or theoretical questions relating to semiconductor materials for optical/electro-optical devices.
Support an ongoing, vibrant and active research effort located at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) , in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate in the research group of a highly-regarded government customer.
Work a unique opportunity to solve important, long term challenges that guide research efforts in an environment that strongly encourages collaboration (government/academic/industry), publication in top journals, and conference attendance.

Candidates should have graduate research and post-doc training in the areas of interest. Specific project experience, teams and organizations worked/collaborated with, and any published or scientific conference-type presentations should be identified.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to a secure government network environment and information.
Semiconductor materials for optical/electro-optical devices
One or both of: Nitriding, Molecular Beam Epitaxy
Some or all of the following processes/lab tools, and analysis of data gathered therein:
Field emission and analysis
Atomic force microscopy
Related process and lab equipment design, setup, use, maintenance and repair.
Experimental lab work.
Education: Major in Physics, Materials, Chemistry, Optics
