Sr. Distribution Manager

 

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Oversee distribution departments for multiple facilities
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the department and drive continuous improvement
  • Plan & develop systems and procedures to improve the quality, safety & efficiency of the distribution operations for the department and other facilities
  • Successfully manage operations & financial activities 
  • Assist direct reports in establishing goals that align with department & company goals
  • Examine, investigate and document business processes and problems
  • Analyze and assess the Profit & Loss statements on a regular basis
  • Oversee department expenses and approve exceptions
  • Ensure fleet maintenance is in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations
  • Communicate with supervisors, managers & upper management
  • Manage and supervise staff; including coaching, partnering, training, scheduling and performance reviews
  • Travel as needed: up to 50% of the time
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Supply Distribution or related discipline required
  • 5+ years of experience in a distribution/logistics/transportation role required
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a distribution/logistics/transportation role required
  • Distribution experience for food/beverage is required; dairy experience strongly preferred
  • Must have strong leadership skills and strong proven ability to manage staff
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HACCP, FDA requirements/regulations as well as fleet management practices, and contemporary distribution concepts & practices
  • Exceptional organizational, problem solving, decision making and technical skills are required
  • Needs to be able to read & analyze profit and loss statements
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time is required
  • Must have strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft office and programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
