Description

Reporting to the Associate Director of Media Services, the Media Services Coordinator provides end-user support to production clients relating to media data integrity, infrastructure (software/hardware) storage utilization and post production broadcast play-out. The incumbent supports technical issues and is responsible for providing support to editing professionals, resolving broadcast media related issues and vendor interface/management.  Additional specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Collaborate proactively with IT staff to ensure technologies are current;
  • Support pre-production workflows for respective production unit clients;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve media (ingest) related issues;
  • Conduct formal training of clients and technical staff (i.e. software/updates, laptop/codecs usage, media access system, etc.);
  • Support producers and editors with all editing room issues;
  • Oversee the restoration of WNET’s media assets;
  • Periodic Software/Hardware updates as required

 

This is a temporary position.

Required Skills


• At least one year of experience in a broadcast environment;
• Ability to quickly access and resolve complex technical issues and approach problems with creative and outside of the box thinking;
• Working Knowledge of Media Access Management (i.e. Dalet) and Non-linear Editing Systems (i.e. Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere);
• Familiarity with Production-related equipment;
• Capacity to meet tight timelines on a consistent basis;
• Working knowledge of Apple Products/ Software and Servers (Mac OSX, Apple XServes);
• Experience with Xendata, Infotrend Drives and Adobe Creative Cloud;
• Ability to communicate/translate technical information to non-technical clients;
• Ability to work periodic on-call/weekend work;
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
