Description

We are seeking an early learning specialist with demonstrated experience in childhood and parent/caregiver education.  The selected Senior Education Producer will play a key role in strategic planning and management of a variety of initiatives, which will involve:
 

  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan that expands our early learning and parent/caregiver educational impact in NYC and across the nation;
  • Creating and implementing professional development programs and partnerships with established early childhood education organizations throughout New York City;
  • Developing innovative approaches and media strategies for reaching and engaging New York City early childhood educators, parents and caregivers, particularly in underserved areas;
  • Developing rich educational media and classroom resources for program web sites and PBS LearningMedia;    
  • Developing and executing educational content plans and events tied to WNET’s children’s productions (e.g. Cyberchase, Oh Noah)
  • Serving as a liaison to New York City’s network of early learning organizations, including childcare centers, informal care providers, city agencies, and community organizations;
  • Writing proposals to support strategic plans and initiatives; and
  • Implementing methods for measuring and reporting impact.
Required Skills


A minimum of seven years’ experience in early childhood education or educationally-related field as well as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
Strong writing and exceptional presentation/public speaking skills;
Superb organizational, interpersonal skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently;
Occasional evening and weekend work will be required, as will potential domestic travel.
Optional Skills


Fluent Spanish speakers are highly sought;
Familiarity with HTML and CMS web publishing (i.e. Wordpress) and non-linear video editing platforms (i.e. Final Cut Pro);
Special attention will be paid to applicants with proven experience in formal and/or informal early learning settings. Applicants with experience in non-profit educational media or outreach at museums, afterschool organizations, or other cultural organizations are strongly encouraged to apply.
