Summary:  This opportunity is for a National Sales Manager with an exciting, fast-growing brand. The National Sales Manager is responsible for growing the brand by driving distribution and sales at key accounts within the defined territories. This role is critical to the company’s strategy and vision for the future.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for growing brand in a variety of trade channels (i.e.: traditional supermarkets, natural retailers, etc.).
  • Acts as primary driver of account planning process
  • Recommends account strategy
  • Identifies trade promotion options
  • Ensures messaging to brokers, distributors & retail customers is consistent with strategic positioning.
  • Identifying, Building, Maintaining and growing relationships with key accounts
  • Working closely with key accounts to ensure sales and distribution
  • Achieving sales targets and distribution objectives
  • Communicating cross functional needs
  • Expands regional business base through the development of new customers.
  • Tracks programs to ensure that they meet expectation.
  • Provides forecast input.
  • Works with Finance to manage all trade spending associated with each business.
  • Resolves customer financial & operational issues
  • Uses data resources to identify and qualify new targets and to manage existing business.
  • Works with Marketing to coordinate presentations, sales materials, new item samples, etc.
  • Works with Sales peers to cooperatively manage overlapping areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinates and participates in trade shows.
  • Travels as necessary. Estimate 60%-70% of the time.
  • Must maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
  • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.

Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience required
  • 5+ years of experience with retail sales for a natural food/beverage manufacturer required
  • Experience in specialty/natural/organic channels is highly preferred
  • Experience managing and maintaining key accounts is required
  • Experience managing distributors and brokers is required
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time is required
  • A valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required
  • Must have top notch business acumen, personal and business motivation, and ethics.
  • Experience with MS Office is required
  • Excellent Computer, verbal and written communication skills is required
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds
