Job Summary:

This position, reporting to the Plant Manager, develops, implements, and maintains HR policies and programs for a dairy manufacturing company. The major areas of responsibility for this position include employee relations, performance management, recruiting/staffing, compensation and benefits, regulatory compliance, and safety.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates policies & procedures for all Human Resources functions such as recruiting, payroll, and employee wellness programs
  • Directs employee performance management program.  
  • Recruits following current EEO/ADA hiring guidelines for both exempt & non-exempt positions
  • Facilitates internal job posting & peer review panel activities
  • Coordinated and interprets all company policies to assure consistent application and equitable employee relations
  • Serves as the point of contact for the administration of company benefit programs
  • Partners with management team members & corporate Human Resources on issues involving employee relations such as discipline, suspensions, terminations, EEOC claims, and rule interpretations
  • Identifies legal requirements & government reporting regulations for all relevant statutes and prepares information requested or required for compliance. Coordinates and supports audits/reviews by corporate Human Resources or government agencies
  • Manages any worker’s compensation cases
  • Facilitate a positive working relationship between management and the labor force.
  • Assist and advise management on Human Resources issues
  • Oversee the activities of the Safety Coordinator to ensure plant safety and that all reporting requirements are met

Required Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • BS Degree in HR or related field
  • 5+ years of Human Resources management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR related laws and regulations and in the areas of recruitment, compensation, benefits, safety and employee relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management
