The Senior Developer is a software professional operating in a support and development function for the software solutions of the company.The ideal candidate will be proactive, internally motivated and self-directed with a passion for understanding the needs of the business users they support. The Senior Developer will need to be a proficient multi-tasker and have the ability to thrive under an environment of competing and overlapping demands.
Delivery of existing software applications used by the company in its day-to-day business.
Directing Solutions Developers and Junior Developers in debugging, fixing and enhancing existing software.
Managing business users’ expectations on timeline to resolution of business problems and inquiries.
Review business requirements and business processes and offer refinement and improvement for stakeholder consideration.
Productionalize prototyped solutions.
Build a roadmap to deliver scalable solutions to meet business requirements.
Keeping abreast of technology and software development methodologies.
6-9 years in a full-time software engineering capacity.
4-6 years experience working with database technology and query language.
Experience building and/or supporting distributed, high-performance systems.
Professional experience supporting cloud-based (AWS, GoogleCloud, etc) solutions.
Professional experience leveraging non-Microsoft technologies (Node.js, RabbitMQ, MongoDB).
Experienced in integration testing and professional experience in Continous Integration/Continuous Deployment.
Demonstrated ability to apply software development methodologies and design patterns to business problems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Retail Energy experience or financial experience.
Experience in consuming disparate data feeds.
Experience in EDI.
DevOps experience or Scrum (or other Agile styles) project experience.
Conversant in project management methodologies.
Preferred experience using GitHub and associated technologies (GitKraken).
Active presence in the online developer community.
