We are looking to hire an Assistant Spa Director (ASD) to help oversee operations at our brand new spa opening Fall 2017 at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.  Named “NYC’s Coolest New Hotel” and part of Conde Nast Traveller 2017 Hot List, the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is a stunning luxury lifestyle hotel.

The ideal candidate will be driven, entrepreneurial in spirit and highly familiar with the NYC spa market.  Experience opening new spa locations is preferred by not required.

The Assistant Spa Director (ASD) is responsible for all aspects of a luxury Hotel spa ranging from service level performance, programs, and day-to-day operations. The ASD will be directly responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction and spa operations at an optimal level in a four star environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees all guest service operations.
  • Establish spa staffing levels
  • Identifies, recruits and hires all spa personnel.
  • Oversees all spa and supervisors.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll report and approvals.
  • Ability to work with Resort Management to build a strong relationship and a seamless guest service experience.
  • Assists Spa Director in conducting performance evaluations for all spa line staff after 90 days and yearly thereafter.
  • Assist with the day-to-day spa operation duties to include opening and closing, cash handling procedures, general facility maintenance and audit reconciliations as needed.
  • Weekly financial forecast updating process
  • Record accurate and timely expectation of revenues – based off of trending, pacing, marketing initiative tracking, guest segmentation tracking
  • Record accurate and timely tracking of spa labor – ensuring proper coding of categories, proper allocation of hours for call center and salon
  • Utilize weekly forecast variance explanation template.
  • Completion of bi-weekly payroll forecast report
  • Responsible for closing reports and cash bank reconciliation.
  • Decisions of a broad nature are made in accordance with general policy and procedures.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a Spa Manager/Supervisor.
  • Experience in payroll, budgets, forecasting and P&L is required.
  • Must be a quick learner; accuracy and attention to detail are critical. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel spreadsheets a must.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be organized, timely and detailed oriented.
  • Must be reliable, ethical and have outstanding customer service skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrable progressive leadership skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certified ideal.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, and holidays).
