Quality Assurance Manager- Dairy


Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for carrying out management responsibilities for the QA department as well as oversee and manage the sanitation team
  • Execute and manage Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Sanitation procedures, programs & policies
  • Responsible for supporting in hiring and training employees
  • Manage and execute QA department activities including planning & assigning work and setting priorities
  • Monitor and verify HACCP and GFSI documents
  • Ensure that all plant, customer and regulatory standards are met
  • Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding all established quality standards
  • Develop, manage and maintain strong working relationships with vendors & suppliers
  • Coordinate with suppliers, external customers & other departments  on quality results, issues & requirements
  • Communicate effectively with plant & company personnel, departments, and other internal & external teams to ensure smooth operation of processes
  • Comply with all guidelines and regulations for food safety and quality (including but not limited to: OSHA, GMP, FDA, HACCP, EPA, etc.) and enforce compliance on the line and throughout the plant
  • Promote quality, safety programs & policies and teamwork
  • Reports all safety, quality, issues & deviations to upper management
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred but will consider a long and solid career in lieu of an advanced degree
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance in food/beverage manufacturing; dairy strongly preferred
  • Must have 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Supervisor; Management experience preferred
  • Hands on experience in directing food safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience with HACCP & SQF certifications preferred
  • Organizational, problem solving, decision making and technical skills are required
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work independently with attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to ten pounds and work in an atmosphere where the temperature is as low as 32 degrees
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, other shifts and holidays
  • Must  have good computer skills and proficient with Microsoft office and programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
