Description

As the Director of Security Operations you will lead a talented team of information security engineers and analysts who receive, triage, analyze, monitor and coordinate incident response throughout North America. Our ideal candidate will be technically centered with a strong focus on collaboration across functional teams as well as a passion for service level achievement. This critical role will be accountable for strategic direction and daily operations focused on evaluations of security threats and vulnerabilities, and developing and conducting security research and education.

The Director will successfully mentor and manage staff, develop and mature internal processes and will be key in driving operations, analysis, and intelligence functions. This critical position will have a great deal of organizational influence and will report directly into the Vice President. Responsibilities include:

  • Manages, oversees and is accountable for the day to day performance and results of the 24x7x365 Security Operations function
  • Develops direction and plans to continuously improve maturation, security posture, service levels, and efficiency of the security operations function; manages the implementation of said plans
  • Plan, design, and implement process, people, systems and tools required to comply with security best practices and meet contractual service commitments
  • Directs the documentation of business processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices followed by the Security Operations function; ensures standards are adhered to by Security Operations
  • Ensures the Security Operations teams are equipped with knowledge, training, systems and tools to deliver target business results, desired outcomes, and attainment of customer SLAs
  • Establishes security operations Key Performance indicators; develops the systematic requirements to measure results, and ensures target performance is achieved or exceeded;
  • Participates as a key contributor in the evaluation of new technologies and services being considered for introduction into the service catalogue to ensure they can be operationalized and supported;
  • Evaluates non-standard sales opportunities to determine if and how exceptions can be viably supported by the security operations function; participates in development of and approves custom statements of work(SOW) for non-standard services
  • Reviews business forecasts and sales funnel and develops staff plans required to support the growth of the security operations function while balancing gross margin targets
  • Escalation point for customers and internal functions
  • Establishes plans and requirements for the development and growth of staff
  • Remains abreast, assesses needs, and establishes plans to maintain currency for ever-changing security threats, malware, and other cyber security attacks methods
  • Responsible for delivering target customer satisfaction
  • Participate in and provide leadership level presence for key customer meetings and business reviews
  • Develop strong and collaborative cross functional relationships within and beyond operations at Digital Hands, and with the sales channels and other operations impacting business partners
 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE SEVERAL OF THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, and/or 10+ years of Cyber Security, Security Operations Center (SOC) experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management/leadership capacity managing SOC personnel
  • Experience managing a SOC within an MSSP or as user of MSSP services is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and ensuring the timely response and investigations of security events and incidents by the security operations center
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEIM, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Security Suites, DLP, NAC, Encryption, Web and Mail Gateways, Vulnerability management, and other security defense platforms.
  • In depth experience and knowledge of Information Systems architecture and security controls and industry and regulatory standards
  • Security and Operation related professional certifications such as ITIL, ISO, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Network+, SANS/GIAC (GSEC), are highly desired
  • Working knowledge of common security industry standards such as: NIST 800-53, 800-61, ISO 27001 and 27002, SOC 2 (SSAE-16)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Position located in beautiful Tampa, FL
  • Relocation offered for the right candidate

  • Travel necessary (up to 15%) - Passport required for North American travel.
