Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) has an immediate need for a Threshold Building Inspector.

Required certifications and licenses:

• Current Florida Threshold Building Inspector certification; or

Licensure as a professional engineer or architect; or

Graduation from a four-year engineering education program in civil, structural or architectural engineering; or

Possession of a professional Architecture degree; or

Registration as a building inspector or general contractor; or

Four years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-Threshold Buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was in responsible charge of the trainee’s work

• Valid Florida Driver’s License

Preferred experience and qualifications:

• 3 Years experience as a Threshold Building Inspector
• ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, or PTI Level 1 & 2 Unbonded PT Inspector, or ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector, or ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector

Skills:

• Ability to read/understand project plans and specifications
• Ability to communicate with project construction team
• Must not be afraid of heights or confined spaces
• Report writing and documentation with computer software skills (summaries and time sheet)

Responsibilities:

• Perform structural inspections to include CMU, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring/reshoring, post tension cable, precast/prestress members, and wood-framed systems
• Communicate with dispatcher about job assignments
• Maintain equipment and truck maintenance (oil changes, fluid levels)
• Follow and support all company safety policies and procedures
• Other assigned duties
