Job description & responsibilities

The position will incorporate all the fundamental responsibilities tied to an automotive industry senior account manager:

  1. Manage a large scale account that includes commercial and technical responsibilities of launched programs, new projects and technology introductions;
  2. Support new business development with targeted prospect companies which will become viable customers with project in the coming months and;
  3. Investigate OR introduce new markets based on experience and knowledge of the automotive landscape or based on the candidate’s actual business background/knowledge.

The business scale of the existing account is roughly $35M per annum.  This position will report to Automotive Division Manager who also works out of our Farmington Hill’s, MI office.

This position is fully supported by a team of professionals comprising all functional areas of a full-service automotive business organization – executives, product managers, engineering, quality assurance, a customer service team and a logistics/warehouse manager.  Many of these positions are local to Farmington Hills and others based out of state.

This position will work at customer sites several days a week – Auburn Hills, MI mainly.  Part of this job includes opportunities to travel to development headquarters in Japan as well as factories located in China and possibly to our newest factory in Mexico.

Other important responsibilities of this position will include the following:

  • Development support for new and/or changing products/platforms
  • PPAP/SOP oversight, coordination with engineering, factories
  • Creation of cost/quotations for tooling, jigs, fixtures, NRE costs, assembly lines
  • Customer forecasts, coordination of forecasts with factories
  • Strong client relationship work
  • Work with Product Managers

Compensation:  Base salary, commission/incentives, MBOs​
