Minimum Requirements:
Position Summary: This position contributes to best-in-class training solutions by identifying and assessing needs, managing aspects of the design process, and creating innovative, engaging graphics, video, audio, text, performance support materials and interactive learning content.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Instructional Technology, Communications, Writing, Graphic Design, Instructional Design, Training & Development, Adult Education or related degree
  • 3-5 years full time experience designing and developing interactive engaging graphic and learning solutions to impact
    business results
  • Experience in page layout, design of performance supporting materials
  • Working knowledge of professional and technical communications concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent communications and grammar skills
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team, work within aggressive deadlines, balance multiple tasks/objectives with high levels of
    flexibility to change
  • Resourcefulness and ability to take the initiative in development and completion of work projects
  • Experience with basic design software: InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop
  • Experience with authoring software: Captivate 5.5 or higher, Storyline, XML/HTML, Snag-it.
  • Experience with media software such as Audition, Illustrator and Dreamweaver a plus.
  • Experience creating and developing interactive computer based and mobile training preferred
  • Experience in retail operations or hospitality preferred

Responsibilities

Design, Writing & Graphics - (35.00%)

  • Create engaging instructional media and interactive elements according to identified needs, standards, budgets and project
    plans
  • Utilize flexible writing styles that can be adapted to different mediums and reach a variety of audiences
  • Create audio narration scripts, record and edit narration
  • Coordinate, shoot and edit content videos
  • Take and edit digital images used in documentation and interactive training modules
  • Work closely with graphic/web/communications team to design supporting graphics and web pages to enhance/support content, and to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Synthesize and reorganize documentation as necessary and maintain revision history information
  • Maintain a style guide and any other related information architecture necessary to retain a consistency in communications and design versioning

 

Authoring - (35.00%)

  • Design page layout and create performance support documentation, training curriculum content, and additional hard-copy and electronic content as needed
  • Design and create interactive and animated content as needed
  • Design and create content for web (intranet site, wikis, blogs, and email newsletters, etc.)
  • Author content in InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, Captivate 5.5 or higher, Storyline, XML/HTML

 

Research and Instructional Design Process Management - (20.00%)

  • Leverage instructional design process, adult learning techniques, research methods and assessment tools to identify needs and build cutting-edge training materials and programs
  • Interview technical and non-technical subject matter experts to learn information necessary to create results oriented training solutions
  • Perform assessments that lead to data-driven design proposals and recommendations (storyboards/ideas/concepts presented graphically)
  • Conduct usability testing to enhance and improve content design
  • Work closely with internal and external customers/stakeholders to create content and to respond to questions from end users

 

Project Management - (10.00%)

  • Plan, schedule and track projects, maintaining aggressive deadlines
  • Present recommendations/designs and report on project status
  • Manage translation vendors to source and procure training content translations within designated timeframes
  • Source and negotiate with print and other performance support vendors
