Reports to:   Vice President of Operations

This position is with an established company in a small town just two hours North of San Francisco, CA. The Production Manager will supervise the production, packaging & sanitation departments and its employees. They will oversee the daily operations of food production to ensure that production meets health, safety sanitation and quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for overseeing production operations and employees in the mixing, baking, packaging , sanitation & maintenance departments
  • Work with the VP of Operations to create and implement policies and procedures for the production environment
  • Research, review and implement any improvements to equipment and processes 
  • Work closely with department managers to train, coach and oversee staff
  • Provide performance feedback and corrective and/or disciplinary actions when needed
  • Ensure that GMP, HACCP and SQF practices are followed, and that employees are complying with  all regulations and company standards
  • Responsible for coordinating shifts, arranging schedules, & monitoring employee performance
  • Ensure a continuous flow of quality products meet and/or exceed all requirements of the customer, company and regulatory agencies
  • Create, establish and adjust procedures to meet production schedules, efficiencies and budget objectives
  • Continuously monitor, document and work to improve production issues
  • Participates in the company’s safety programs
  • Responsible for educating and bringing safety awareness to the workers
  • Reviews and approves employee time records to ensure that timekeeping practices are followed
  • Troubleshoot problem areas and develop solutions
  •  Performs other responsibilities, duties or assignments as directed

Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • NEED to be bilingual in both English and Spanish - this is a requirement as the ideal candidate must have the ability to speak Spanish fluently as there is a large population of Spanish only speakers in this plant 
  • Must have 3+ years in a Production Manager role or equivalent position in a food manufacturing environment 
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills are required
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds  
  • Forklift certification training experience a plus
  •  Needs to have working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, GMP’s, HACCP and SQF requirements
  • Strong organizational, problem solving & analytical skills are required
  • Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within continuously changing priorities is essential
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment background, drug and criminal screens
