Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising the equipment maintenance and facilities management teams.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Plan, organize & supervise maintenance operations
  • Perform routine checks of machines, panels & systems
  • Create job priorities & time frames for maintenance staff
  • Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary to ensure smooth running of operations
  • Inspect the facility & address the loopholes
  • Review operations of equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime
  • Develop, maintains and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan for manufacturing equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Evaluate the root cause and solve problems in a timely manner
  • Ensure breakdown minimization
  • Adhere to safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
  • Prioritize safety in carrying out the responsibilities
  • Maintain a hazard free work environment
  • Ensure production of quality products as per the customer specifications
  • Work with Production Manager on decisions regarding the production schedule.
  • Identify process deficiencies and operational gaps to increase the plant’s output
  • Implement standardized work flows and provide guidance on daily work priorities
  • Develop Waste Management and reduction plan and integrate applicable regulations.
  • Works with  outside maintenance contractors as needed and negotiates service agreements
  • Manages departmental costs effectively.
  • Seeks opportunities to reduce cost via process improvements, negotiations and lean manufacturing initiatives.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • B.S. degree required (Any degree considered but Engineering or Technical Discipline a plus)
  • 10+ years of experience in the field of maintenance within an automated manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Films, Materials, Plastics, Packaging environments are a plus
  • 5+ years of direct leadership in Maintenance Dept with in a Plant/Manufacturing facility
  • Strong background in Continuous Manufacturing is a Requirement  (Batch manufacturing only experience is not a fit, the qualified candidate will have Continuous Automation Maintenance background and experience planning strategic downtime for repairs and fixes)
  • Solid experience in Controls/ PLC’s (Siemens) troubleshooting Required
  • Experience with PM/TPM (Preventative or Total Predictive Maintenance) program implementation is a plus
  • Lean Principles Manufacturing Experience is a Plus
  • Need experience being a Hands on Manager- not a delegator- someone willing to mentor, train and “turn a wrench”
  • Someone that can come in and help create an environment of accountability of the team and the reliability of the machines
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background, physical, and drug screen.
