The role of the Sr. WMS Business Analyst is to gather operational and process requirements and to translate those requirements into systems (functional/and non-functional) requirements. The Business Analyst II uncovers organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; orchestrating solution designs and recommending system controls and protocols to solve operational problems or to implement new feature functionality that are large and complex in scope. In the area of Logistics, this role provides a broad and deep understanding of fulfillment and supply chain systems and requires enough knowledge and capability that the individual could function as the Subject Matter Expert in these systems, if called upon. They are the conduit that connects IT to Logistics and Supply Chain operations and facilitates key communication between the two groups.

Job Duties

•Acts as a resource in understanding how IT systems carry out business functions within assigned area(s).

•Evaluates existing application products that could address requirements and develops recommendations where appropriate.

•Elicit requirements for system changes; Validates, simplifies, organizes and translates requirements such that operational processes fit within systems constraints.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine broader requirements across business units and larger organizational areas; identify dependencies and interdependencies.

•Document business requirements according to established department standards using requirements documents and impact scenarios.

•Responsible for interpreting, grooming, and general management of requirements.

•Defines systems scope and objectives for implementing systems that achieve business goals; devises more optimal systems and processes.

•Communicate and coordinate interactions between IT, the business users, and customers regarding systems changes.

•Champions IT standards and helps operations understand needs and benefits of such standards.

•Interact with IT management regarding work assignments and status.

•Ensure that requirement are formed such that appropriate test cases can the designed and executed to valuate requirements; May participate in the system testing.

•Performs other duties as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

•4 plus years of experience as a Business Analyst in developing lifecycle documents, including use cases, detailed functional requirements, detailed workflow design specifications, and software requirement specifications.

•3 plus years of experience in logistics, supply chain, fulfillment strategies -- E-commerce and retail experience a plus.

•Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

•Experience leading requirements discovery working sessions with an audience of customer and systems Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

•Experience translating the results of requirements discovery sessions into requirements/design documents and use cases.

•Experience in negotiating and gaining consensus in the customer community to succinctly define requirements and expectations.

•Experience in intermodal transportation, supply chain logistics, or asset leasing is strongly preferred.

•Understanding and/or experience with warehouse management systems and distribution center operations knowledge.

•Solid knowledge of Business Objects and other key reporting technologies.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Experience working on team-based and cross functional projects.

•Working knowledge of project management practices in waterfall and SCRUM methodologies.

•Working knowledge of workflow tools; Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio and MS Projects.
