JOB PURPOSE:
The SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management) Functional Architect will be a member of our client's Center of Excellence (CoE).  This individual will interface heavily with CoE Business Analysts and internal customers across businesses and functional groups.  The SAP SCM Functional Architect will work closely with our businesses and functional groups to properly diagnose and resolve identified issues within the APO/IBP Modules, and assist the business leadership teams in implementing strategic improvements to SAP.  The SAP SCM Functional Architect will also apply project management expertise to identify and develop process improvements, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies.  The SAP SCM Functional Architect is expected to provide counsel and leadership to their respective area in an effort to maximize efficiency while protecting the integrity of the overall solution.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as internal consultant and design architect for SAP solution within specific modules. Partner with peers in the IT organization and fellow Functional Architects and Business Analysts to align business processes with solution design, leveraging the capabilities of the SAP modules.
  • Responsible for the full systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation of various functional architecture solutions.
  • Translate overall business process requirements to SAP configuration.
  • Advise on the management of configuration and testing across the SAP environment.
  • Support the identification of enhancement opportunities to standardize/improve processes and system configuration that supports the customer-focused approach, but ensures compliance to the business management goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Functional Architects and Business Analysts to ensure end to end process integration and consistency
  • Develop, prototype, test and implement solution improvements to increase stability, usability and functionality to enable end users to meet business objectives
  • Lead and support project initiatives to expand the usage of the SAP solution to improve and expand processes across the enterprise.
  • Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP. Assist in the management of those systems as part of an overall solution portfolio.
  • Provides functional support and leadership to SAP User Community including: interaction with Third-Party Support Providers, definition of SOPs, gathering business requirements, documenting functional designs and specifications, and evaluating / directing enhancements.
  • Identifies training needs and supports CoE Training Manager in the development & delivery of training content.
  • Researches and analyzes basic and complex issues surrounding our client's business processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with Master Data Management team to provide solution architecture input on strategy and initiatives to support management reporting requirements.
  • Mentor business and functional team members to increase their competency in SAP.
  • Perform all duties according to company policies and safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
     
    Skills, knowledge, abilities:
     
  • Current SAP configuration experience & certification in SCM APO modules.
  • Manufacturing Industry experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager.
  • Experience using SAP implementation methods.
  • Business process analysis and redesign experience: strong business analysis skills; process mapping; business process redesign and implementation
  • Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support
  • Effectively promote process best practices
  • Excellent interaction skills
  • Communication skills: strong presentation/ communication / facilitation skills (oral and written)
  • Works well with teams or in a team environment, with the ability to work independently. Proven team leadership, mentoring, and project management skills.
  • Strong time management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and handle large workloads.
