Job Description:
The Enterprise Systems Delivery manager will be accountable and responsible for the delivery of short and long term Enterprise Systems projects and sub-projects for our customers (both internal IT and other departments such as Supply Chain, Finance, and HR). While this position will not have direct reports, the dedicated members of the project teams will be expected to participate under the Delivery Manager’s direction for the scope and duration of that project. This is a “hands-on” position; the manager will be responsible for managing the team, producing project artifacts, executing key project activities such as design/test management/cutover in addition to being responsible for tracking the timeline, scope, and budget of their assigned projects.

(75%) Project Planning, Execution, and Delivery

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of Enterprise Systems software development projects.
  • Leads collaboration with the business to document technical and functional requirements and as-is and to-be processes, define project scope, document risk and assumptions, develop the delivery approach, and estimate cost and timings.
  • Lead the documentation and defining of requirements using appropriate graphical & textual techniques, including use cases, diagrams, process models, functional and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate the technical design effort with various technical teams (InfoSec, Infrastructure, etc.) including technical architecture, data modeling, information security requirements, etc.
  • Lead the QA strategy, preparation, and execution process.
  • Communicate new requests received from the client to the project leadership teams.
  • Facilitate working session to drive and define new requirements or changes
  • Solicit feedback on design, functionality, and priority of new features from business representatives.
  • Prepare and manage to the project plan.  Provide regular status updates to leadership and raise issues appropriately.
  • Estimate and manage project budget, define staffing requirements, conduct interviews and oversee contract team members as required.
  • Oversee all project activities and phases (analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, training, cutover, handoff) and manage budget, scope, and timeline appropriately.
  • partner with customers in actively designing the end-solution; provide thought leadership and insights to collaborate on developing technical solutions to business problems. 

 (25%)   Day to Day Portfolio and Release Management

  • Perform as an active member of the Enterprise Systems management team responsible for day-to-day oversight of the entire suite of supported applications (both on-premise and hosted).
  • Coordinate and manage Significant Incidents as they occur
  • Remove blockages and assist the team in problem resolution especially as they pertain to external vendors or require coordination with other departments in I.S.
  • Manage the release schedule for ongoing post-production releases including identification of test scenarios and templates and coordination of QA plan and oversight of test execution.
  • Perform backup activities for the other managers as required.
  • Coordinate with other Delivery Managers to develop best practice project management standards, create templates for project artifacts, continue to refine guidelines to apply to all Enterprise Systems projects.
  • Handle requests/incidents from the customers – gather, document, and log the details. Track the status of the issue resolution/request development and communicate out key details and status to the customer.

Minimum Requirements:
Required Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience leading, managing, and successfully delivering I.T. projects of medium to large complexity
  • At least 5 years’ leading direct project teams as well as coordinating with extended project teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic infrastructure, information security, and system integration concepts
  • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, process mapping, and making business process recommendations as well as technical recommendations to solve business needs
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, analytical and presentations skills
  • The ability to switch between technical and functional dialogue and grasp both highly technical concepts as well as functional business processes.
  • Proven multitasker; ability to juggle multiple projects and demands simultaneously.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of corporate back-office business functions such as Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and analytical thinker
  • Desired Skills/Experience
  • Consulting experience (i.e. “Big 5”) highly preferred
  • Some technical development experience highly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred (PeopleSoft or SAP a plus)
  • PMP experience a plus
