The candidate will serve as an onsite contractor working within the AFRL team on a range of synthetic, formulation, or materials chemistry projects focused on liquid crystalline materials. The primary focus of this candidate will be to extend and optimize chemistries reported by the Azimuth/AFRL team in recent publications including a highly visible paper in Science(https://www.sciencemag.org/content/347/6225/982.abstract).
The candidate will support an ongoing, vibrant, and active research effort located at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Working a unique opportunity to solve important, long term challenges that guide research efforts in an environment that strongly encourages collaboration (government/academic/industry), publication in top journals, and conference attendance.

Other Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements:
Discipline(s): Polymer chemistry, polymer science/engineering, materials science/engineering, chemical engineering, or related. Graduate research and post-doctoral training in the synthetic polymer chemistry, formulation, and liquid crystals is beneficial, but not required.
